I dreamed of being invited to a large dinner in a ball room, in an office/hotel, held by a secret society. The servers wer all smoking and dropping ashes in the food, and I shoved one of their heads into a serving turine.

I went to find people in charge, and found a woman,, and asked her where this group was from. All she would reply was "Salem." I thought about it, and kept asking, and I gathered enough clues to know that she had poisoned the food, and we were all a psychic sacrifice to force people's minds into a particular configuration. I ran back into the ballroom, and I yelled for everyone to stop eating, even as I was starting t o feel woozy. I overturned the food tables, and the music tables, and kept everyone from eating too much of the poison.

Something before all of that about being at some kind of docks, or shipping yard, watching shipping containers open and close, and people entering and exiting them, talking about and having sex.

See? This is what happens when you read The Maxx, before bed. Better than therapy.

For some reason, I remember a childrens story about a secret society of witches that went out a hotel ballroom for a convention. I'm relatively certain that poison is involved, and that one young lad gets turned into a mouse.

Yeah, that was... There it is, The Witches (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100944/), and I saw it when i was about eight.

The mouse transformation serum was in the soup.

This reminds me so much of the Poisoners of the Sun Kings Court, the french devil worshippers that made the whole french necromancy movement so popular.

Found these ... I was originally introduced to the whole thing through a bit of kick-ass historical fiction written by Neal Stephenson, I was so enamoured of the image of a deigned by god aristocrat scrubbing the shit-stains out of her own underwear out of fear of the poisoners that I read all about it in a book I stumbled across later.

There's a handful of books on it, there was like 400 separate investigations at the peak of the hysteria, (it seems like it may have been mainly hysteria but in some ways that sorta makes the whole thing even more awesome).
