And it's Little Five Points, too!

'In the Travel Channel's new series, Man vs. Food, host Adam Richman sets out to travel the country in search of the best places to do some serious indulging. This Wednesday, January 7th, the show is set in Atlanta. The three restaurants featured are Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles, Big Pie in the Sky Pizzeria and The Vortex Bar & Grill.

'So tune into the Travel Channel on Wednesday at 10:00 pm to see Adam chat with Vortex customers, staff and co-owners Michael and Suzanne. Or, head down to either Vortex location where we'll be playing the show live, with the volume turned up and everything! It should be some ridiculous viewing. '

So if you ever wondered where the fuck I was talking about, when I talk about trivia nights, now you can know.

Cheers.

I'm not a huge Vortex fan but i feel I could learn for you. It's the chosen after hours place of the burlesque ladies I play with.

That's pretty awesome.

What don't you like about them?

Don't eat much beef. Makes burgers seem kind of useless. I do dig turkey or veggie burgers, but then I just feel like a pain in the ass. Plus, I dunno'. Too hip? I'm more for food vs. atmosphere.

There blackbean burger is awesome! And since all the burgers come with a veggie option AND a black bean option, it's not even like you're ordering something all that special. Everyone chooses what type of burger they want - just because most people choose meat doesn't mean that taking one of the other options is less legit.

We always went for the food. Specifically the Vortex Fondue aka tater tots and cheese dip. The sweet potato fries are great, too. And they've done some things with soup that I've been trying to replicate ever since. Really, it's one of the best places for a mixed group of carnivores, omnivores, and veg-heads.

Interesting. I wasn't impressed with the tots, but I think it's because I had The Highlander's with the au jus first. And, seriously, au jus tater tots are sex.

But yeah, I don't know. I went the other day and just didn't feel that impressed but I guess I can always give it another go.

I like their black bean burger, and I'm not even a veggie. I just have an unholy thing for black beans. :)
