So twitter is a low-bandwidth fairly ubiquitous thing at this point, right? I use it to remote functions on my PC for crying out loud.
So, we create a fairly easy to implement app, something based on Adobe Air or something, right? Set it up to run twitter but to also access a distributed and encrypted database alongside twitter. Not that hard as I understand it.
We fill that database with people who are good at something and who are willing to do that thing for free. Street medics, ham/packet radio geeks, councilors, paralegals, hackers, taggers, webheads, writers, whatever, ect.
A grassroots and very multipurpose global volunteer aid orginization backboned off of twitter and SMS.
It's what comes of tripping balls while watching tweets come through from people trying to help other people find resources, people and saftey in Mumbai during the attacks.
