To Gov. Sarah Palin, and anyone else who tries to use "Victory" in termss of either Iraq, or Terror:

Hey, Sarah Palin, you know who else is "afraid" to use the word "Victory" in reference to Iraq? General David Petraeus.

But, Madam Governor, maybe You could tell me what exactly victory means? Is it when the Iraqi government can govern itself?

Is it, Gov. Palin, when the Iraqi people & their democratically elected leaders Ask Us To Leave? When they ask for a timeline of withdrawal?

Or is it, Governor, when we have "defeated terrorism, everywhere?" Because-- and I hate to have to tell you this-- terrorism is a tactic.

It is, Mrs. Governor Sarah Palin, a tactic of instilling in people a Sense of Terror, of being always afraid, to modify their behaviour.

It is the TACTIC, Mrs. Palin, of keeping the people Afraid and Compliant. Terrorism is not an Army. It's not a country, with people to beat.

Terrorism, Vice-Presidential Nominee Palin, is an ideological tactic that can't be "beaten" by bombing and warring w/ any one group using it.

Terrorism, you idiot, is beaten by understanding, nuance, compassion, diplomacy, and Engaging the people who feel the need to resort to it.

And this, you see, is why I'm not a politician. Because anyone who uses "defeating terror" as a benchmark is either stupid, or thinks I am.

I'm saying that we seem to keep changing what "victory" is. Because, now, AMERICA gets to decide when the Iraqis are ready for us to leave.

That seems weird.
