Fuel the Flames
Sep. 9th, 2008 10:11 amI dreamed of the things I make at parties, most often: Magnesium fires and Cthulade. Taking the sparklers, putting them in the aluminum can, and setting to wait. Filling the surrounding area with saw dust and match heads, which felt like cheatinng...
But in a larger tub, around the potential flame, people started mixing what they thought was Cthulaid. The ingredients were many and varied, and they got it Very Wrong.
tsarina_bomba said it tasted like hooch and lighter fluid.
mech_angel and everyone else had gone outside, and I was left to fish the can of sparklers out of the liquid; it was still fairly dry, to a point, even if the lower third of the sparklers had melted into a sticky mess. I went outside, and there was a flat arid plain, at night. A hardpack desert, and everyone was sitting, staring at the guidingn star, in the sky, while a GI Joe team, gave them a "Knowing Is Half The Battle" lesson about Jesus being Lord and Savior. the GI Joes weren't standard military. One was a Gunnery Seargent/Quartermaster, one was a Black Ops Navy Seal, one was my Uncle, a Private Security Team Leader... My uncle made fun of the quartermaster, saying he was only there to get people theirr mail, but I could tell that his job was pretty important. No one would get paid, without him.
The "Restless" episode of Buffy, wearing my Cthulade shirt, yesterday, drinking rum before bed, seeimg my uncle on Sunday. Those are the components. They always seem to combine into something far more, don't they?
