It is the nature of the internet that the question of whether a system of any kind, asked before a large enough audience, is dangerous to that system, no matter the answer that returns. Which of the following three results from Mythbusters would not have resulted in increased haxx0rz?: 1) "Nope. This system is unhackable." 2) "Yup, the system is hackable, but for legal reasons we can't tell you how." 3) "Yup, the system is hackable. Here's how:" They elicit different groups of people, but all three responses draw crowds of hackers to the door.
The problem is, those who Would hack it, already KNOW it's hackable. What the majority of us want is for them to ADMIT it and DO something about it, rather than pretending it doesn't exist.
I don't begrudge those lawyers this one
