Well, that sucks. Someone definitely screwed up somewhere, then. It's said 10 on the website for at least the last week or two, because I checked for exactly that reason.

We paid for this year, but I'm thinking next year I may go back to borrowing badges for the weekend. After the 2.5 hour line that Paul had to wait in to pick up our badges while they told ticketbastard and on-site people to come on up to the front (to one of several lanes just for on-site registration) is bull.
