New Educational Model
Jul. 29th, 2008 05:14 pmMy dad sent me an e-mail, this evening, regarding the need for a new operational procedure, in the field of education. It is, in essence, everything I've been saying for the past 4 years, at least, and it is good to see this in the wider mainstream.
'New University Education Model Needed'
'There are currently great needs and great opportunities for improvement in post-secondary science education. As world education improves, we need to provide more students with complex understanding and problem solving skills in technical subjects to allow them to be responsible and successful citizens in modern society. '
Definitely worth a good read.

Date: 2008-07-30 04:19 pm (UTC)Today is a catch 22 situation in which the reforms needed in secondary education need to happen in addition to the fundamental re-imagining of primary school reform. As it stands now, colleges assume that general education is taught at the primary level, when the schools in fact only teach kids these days test-taking strategies and methodolgies to gain entrance into secondary education, passing the burden of respondibility to the university-level. But that's just my 2 cents.
