Prodigy - [Fire]--- I dreamed, last night, of doing Karaoke in the House of the Rising Sun. It was someone's party, and we couldn't leave the grounds. Leaving the gate brought you around backstage, and you had to go up and sing. I don't remember what I sang, but I remember being on the phone, one of the times, and having to tell my mom I'd call her back. When the House tells you it's time to sing, the show must indeed go on. Everyone laughed at me ("They're all gonna laugh at you!"), at first, but by the time I actually got into the song, they couldn't help but be impressed, swept up in it.

Jarboe - [When the Sun Rises (w/ Blind Michael Bradley & Diana Obscura)]--- The "serving girls" were waitresses, waiting for their turns, waitint to sing, because if you sang well enough, you could leave, you could go home, and see the sun rise, on the outside of the House, rather than being trapped in that perpetual pre-dawn.

I could have left, when I was done singing, I could have done anything I wanted. But I didn't. I stayed. (Rasputina - [High on Life]). The party wasn't over, and there were still people I needed to see and hear sing. I woke up, waiting for people to take their turns.

And yes, WinAmp is still on random. I sometimes wonder if it can hear me, and it's picking it's music based on what I'm writing...

Lizzie West - [Chariots Rise]--- The house was in the swamp, by the way. On the edge of the woods and the city, perched and balanced, and waiting.
