You will thank [livejournal.com profile] hametsunosaturn for this: Maybeshewill - [Not For Want Of Trying].

"I want you to get up, now. I want all of you to get out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now, and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and Yell:. . ."

Wow.

not related to the content of the entry, but do you have a client plugin that inserts the songs in the text of most of your entries or do you do that manually. And, if the latter, why?

The former, but I Found it, because I was doing the latter.

I do it because I like to let people know what I'm listening to, as my WinAmp has a history of being extremely synchronous, in regards to the things I'm writing, and talking about.

Also my typing cadence and rhythm changes, depending on the music.

Where did you find that plugin? I dunno how much I would end up using it, since I tend to listen to Pandora more than anything else these days, but it would still be cool to know where to get such a thing if I found myself going back to winamp more often.

In other news, I had to go find that clip. I haven't seen that movie in forever.

Of course, the people yelling at the end is how you know it's fiction. Our generation would be more likely to roll our eyes and switch the channel to Colbert.

This makes me sad. :/

And that's because Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart have realised that the court jester gets to speak the truth with impunity.

While true, that doesn't change the fact that while we** are sitting on the couch, laughing and smirking in our perceived superiority to "all those morons out there," we aren't *out there* getting. shit. done. We, collectively, are a generation of watchers and whiners who mistake blog posting for real social action and Facebook for interpersonal contact.

That being said, I like both. And while I actually prefer Jon Stewart, Colbert's press association bit was pure genius. And, I have an online journal in which I have been known to post social/political/cultural rants. And I have a Facebook account. MySpace, too. So really, it's not like I'm not part of the machine, I'm just sayin'.

** General, collective we. Re: our generation. Or really, a cross-generational group that goes from about 22-38. So.. "Generation-X and sometimes Y?"

I think we can do both, with a little initiative.

No MySpace for me, though. Just LiveJournal, Twitter, Facebook, and, uhm... Yeah.

Heh. It kind of scares me too, actually. I nabbed it from a friend of mine and slapped my face on instead of the original one.

I think I've spent way too much time on livejournal icons, actually.

I got a paid account for icons alone... So I totally feel you on spending way too much time on icons.

I really ought to make some new ones, though.
