And now I'm conflicted, torn, and damn near thrown into a fucking Fugue state of academic-deficiency fear, because I honestly don't know how to court publishers, and people seem not to think that these people are exactly "reputable." Or, at least, not prestigious.

Dood. Just do it. Contact them and ask them what they're options for publication are. That you've recently written your thesis and that you "are considering having your work published free-of-charge." Asking won't hurt.

They contacted me, already. I got an out-of-nowhere e-mail from them, earlier today.

It's just a matter of knowing what their for-pay exclusivity rights are, and if their record carries any stigma.
