Things we need to be thinking about
Jun. 23rd, 2008 11:17 pmCurrent things affecting the world, and its citizens:
Oil speculation: People invest in oil, because they see the price going up, gambling that the price will go up. As they invest, "the market" counts it as high demand. Prices go up.
Futures markets: Investing based on what you think will happen anywhere from a month to three or four years in the future.
Corn prices are going up, because there is far less of it, to go around, and need is about the same. No surprise, there.
Advertising. Tell people what they want, and how it fits what they want, already. Make them want it, more.
Major trends based on our perceptions and interpretations, which we then put out into the world.
Can you think of any others?
