Up above in Transverse City
Every weekend lasts for months
English Beat - [Mirror In The Bathroom]--- I don't remember my dreams.
There's a lot on my mind, but I don't know that I'm sharing it with you, just yet.
Give me some time.
Tom Waits - [Goin' Out West]--- I have never in my life wanted to simply get in a car and drive, as much as I have, lately. See, we could stop somewhere in the southwest, just before we get to the coast, set up in a roadside shop, sell gasoline, and old car parts, and maybe even make some "authentic" crap to sell to tourists.
Assemblage 23 - [Ghosts]--- And as long as no one looked in the trunks of the rusted out cars, we'd always be just fine.
We could set up an ice cream shop, in the side room, there, selling ice cream to all the kids who didn't have an ice cream man, a Good Humour Man, to lift the heat, anymore.
And as long as no one asked about the truck-shaped room, or looked underneath the ice cream, in the freezer, we'd always be just fine.
We could keep ourselves involved, in the community, get on the neighbourhood watch, and the city council, and maybe even run for state office, one day, because everyone would love us, so much, and they know us, and they trust us.
Tom Waits - [Please Wake Me Up]--- And as long as no one looked in our eyes, too closely, or thought about when and how we smiled, we'd always be just fine...
