Two Quick Notes

1) I don't get what the big deal is with Molskine notebooks and, until someone can explain oit to me, I'm more than a little inclined to say it has something to do with This.

2) Tomorrow is Blade Sharpening Day. Sharpen every bladed instrument you have in your house. If you don't have the means to sharpen them, then why do you have the blades?

Actually we have super-fancy Wusthoff knives and they don't need sharpening yet because they are so new.

Sorry to be obnoxious and braggy but I love them so much I can't help it :)

thank you! They were wedding presents. The way most people register for china and get like 1 place setting or 2 wine glasses per person... Dan and I got 1 knife per person. I can't help loving them, though, they're just so good. And since we hardly ever eat meat I really wanted some fancy paring knives, because cutting veggies with a dull knife is the worst.

It does suck. 'S why I need to sharpen mine. Had some issues with a Lamb roast, the other day.

The main reason I went crazy for them when I first discovered them was because they had a built in band to keep them closed (just like Indy's dad's book in Last Crusade!). Having a pocket in the back, some perforated pages, and a real binding that would hold up to being in my backpocket (unlike all those little spiral notebooks) helped push it into the buy category. So I guess build quality and features (and when I first discovered them they were still a rare item here, as in only one website sold them, so there was a bit of the "early adopter" cachet to it as well).
