Fighting with people in comment threads on the Internet is like standing in full Kevlar body armour, with a helmet, a shield, a sword, a gun, infinite soup and sandwiches, in the middle of Central Park at Midnight, screaming "I'm gonna clean up this city! Now Come GET Some!"

Sure, you'll help a lot of people, and some people may even join in, to help you. But... Eventually, you get tired.

And there's always that chance that someone gets in that lucky shot...

I've never seen the point myself. I don't exactly see Crushing arguments to be made on on-line message boards, and most of the time I don't think one half is reading the other-halves messages anyway they are just saying whatever they think and if you message back it just gives them something to look like they are replying too.
