People keep asking why Hillary and Barack sometimes fight and sometimes agree like newlyweds, but think about it for a second.

Obama is beloved because he is new, and promises a "hope for change," or whatever, right? His policies have all the right sounds and all the right pressure points, to get to the people and move them.

Clinton is respected because of her loyalty and her history of service and her striving toward bi-partisanship, her hard-liner's experience, or whatever, right?

They are both intelligent people. They both have campaign staffers who are more intelligent than many other people, in many other places. They all have to have realised that, in certain states, they are both better served by stressing how much alike they are, and how much they agree, while in other states, they are far better off distancing themselves from each other. On top of that, certain groups like candidates who can get along, while others want to see a fight. That's just how it is.

So yeah, sometimes they're going to fight and sometimes they're going to seem so saccharine sweet it'll make you want to take a drill to your own teeth, pre-emptively.

In Texas, Obama needs to look like a more progressive Hillary, who has always been a friend to the immigrant worker, and Clinton needs to look more progressive than Barack, in terms of job security and economic stimulus.

I'm out.

And then will come the announcement that they are running mates. Just playing chicken to see who gets top billing.

JMHO.

I think the implosion that will follow Hillary's hypothetical loss of the nomination will preclude a fruitful political career, from that point onward.

Either that, or it'll be a slow slow smoldering.

Nah, I'll bet if she loses and she's willing to do so gracefully, she can get all sorts of concessions for bowing out before things get ugly.

Plus, she can be the NY senator for basically as long as she likes.

I would hope so. But she's put almost everything she has, into this campaign. This is Huge, for her.

It seems much more make or break for her, than for him, from what I've seen.
