Black Box Recorder - [Child Psychology]--- When I was younger, I used to talk to myself. I'd talk about my problems, my wants my connections in my head, my theories. I'd talk them out, and, you know what? I'd feel better about them.

Because you can't afford a therapist. Because there are certain things that you could say to someone else, but you don't want to. Because actually saying it aloud makes it real, makes you have to face it, even (especially) if it's only to yourself.

Covenant - [Replicant]--- So. Today, I'm going to talk to myself, like I used to. I'm going to talk to myself about the things that I've realised, this week. This level of self-consciousness is exactly what keeps this from being insane, by the way. Why?

Because if you don't know anyone distanced enough from the situation, you might as well spiral inward until you're so close to it that you couldn't possibly be any further away.

Might I recommend a similar operation, for others of you?

Just a thought.

*shrug* Then, if that's what you're after, don't do it. But strong feeling or no, you'll never be certain.

my problems lately have not been the talking to myself, or the lack thereof, but I find myself not sure what I'm worried (if I'm even worried) lately. I'm not quite sure what's wrong . . .

And that's exactly what I mean. Talking helps to pull the pieces apart and put them back together. At least, for me it does. Doesn't mean it'll work for everyone.
