So. My computer, my desktop, my longtime friend and companion in the world of academic strife needs more RAM. (Bobgoblin - [Overthrow]). Problem? It needs RDRAM. They don't really make RDRAM, anymore, and certainly not on the cheap.

So. The question becomes the one of purchasing a new motherboard and processor (an endeavour for which I don't have the money), or trying to find a suitable amount of RDRAM, on the intertubes. (Marlene Dietrich - [Lili Marlene (Auf Deutsch)]). See previous parenthetical.

If days have feelings, then so far today feels like I'm rounding the side of a windy cliff, on a narrow ledge, and I know you're there, just in front of me, or just behind me, but I can't see you, and the wind's blowing kind of hard, and the only thing I want to do is find a crevice where I can cull up, for a little bit, just a little bit, and wait out the wind. Maybe build a fire.

wow, I was trying to think of a good description of how I feel today, and your imagery came back very clearly. I'm home sick, feeling lost and abandoned, but it's my own damn fault. cold and not really with the connection of people, intertubes aside.

And damn, I went to my cheap computer parts website, and you could make a frankenstein for the price of a 256 rdram. Damn. I'm sorry. And you might want to consider it, price wise, building from parts might be cheaper.
