Right now, if you'd like. There are any number of things happening today, at This Very Hour that aren't being reported on any local station, or any 24 hour news network.

I'd like to change that, first of all. After that, the sensationalist crap reportage of things like "Is Emory Wasting Your Tax Dollars With CHIMPANZE RESEARCH?!?!?!?!"

Kind of... Irksome.

Overall, though... Need more money...

My father taught me at a young age not to get my news from any one news source - they're all biased, "even the good guys"...

Yep. :\ Sifting through the garbage, and trying to piece together something without too much bias, takes a long damn time.

Yeah. One doesn't need an education in Journalism to realize that broadcast journalism is a total joke (but it helps!). Fox gets the rap for this, and they deserve it, but in all honesty every television news network deserves just as much.

The truth of it is that broadcast journalism is as much a television show as anything else on the airwaves, and subject to the exact same whims of advertisement, ratings, corporate agendas, etc., and even more now than ever before. If it's not trifling, it's sensationalist - because it needs to keep you watching. "How to keep your family safe - five-minute-long report in three hours. Now look at these puppies. Check out this brief clip of a minority family doing minority family stuff. Up next: charismatic talking head who sounds like he's on Your Side as he reports on exactly what he's supposed to."

Precisely. Need More Money. Must Own Advertising Shares.

The money is temporary. What you want to own are the media. It's not the goods, it's the transmission that collects the most. I'm sure you have a billion of your own examples, but look at the Hanseatic League, the intrawebs, Wal-Mart, etc. It's the owners of the transmission that win.

So, get an existing one, or create a new medium.

The money is the only thing that will allow the influencing of those transmissions. It is the only thing that the advertisers will understand, and those are the people through whom we must travel, if we are to reach fellow visionaries; the people who are in it for the Ideas.

Market the ideas, show people how they can profit from it, fame and cash and such, and they'll take it to their bosses. Eventually, you're in a meeting with the people who understand why you need to make something change, and get the others to see how money can be made from that. Then you implement and change.
