Afterthoughts: Nuits de Reve
Aug. 18th, 2002 01:38 pmI'm on a space station, like before, and i'm wandering/floating around, in 0.8 gravity. There's more about the vending machines, and i'm talking to my aunt. There is a scene of talking to her, on the computer, and then everything starts to shift. The space station is turning into something else. The walls are straightening out, and bending inward, instead of outward. There is red trim on all of the walls, and everything looks like its made out of a wooden metal.
There's the impression of people hiding, running from whatever's happening to the space station. The doors now remind me of the movie theater, in my head. I hear a chanting, and all of these huge Things start coming out of the walls. They look like brick- or sandstone-coloured versions of the children-masked things from "Brazil," and people i know. They are chanting "Amen-Ra, CthulRa." over and over again, with the LR part of the second word, sounding like it would in Japanese. Someone tells me that i have to make it to the Temple of Judgement, so that i may speak with Thoth. Thoth is both an old black woman, and an Ibis-headed God.
I have to cross an open courtyard, to get to the Temple, and as i'm running, the Things are chasing me, and i realise that they are Loa, but THEY are being ridden, by other gods. None of them are under their own free will, or, if they are, they've been changed.
Deja vu on that entire sentence...
They are chasing me, and i know that, to remain safe, i must touch these lighted circles, on the courtyard floor. The courtyard is covered in a fine sand, and tall pillars. The network of lighted safe point, and pillars, is like a schematic i saw in the space station, yesterday. As i'm running, the force of the other temple, itself, is pulling me back towards it, as well as the Loa trying to grab me. Once you make it past a certain point, though, the gravity of the other temples starts to have an effect on you. As i am running straight ahead, the next one to affect me will be the Temple of Judgement.
They are still chanting the same words, over and over, but the meaning is now changed. It now means, "None may enter the Temple of Judgement, without first giving homage to Amen-Ra, CthulRa." Because if i enter the Temple, without paying homage, i can call that god to Judgement, and it can potentially be killed. One of the Loa grab me, and i get a distinct feeling of someone i know. It spins me around, trying to throw me back to the first temple, and i tear free, and keep running. This happens, twice more. i break free, each time, and run. I finally get to the save point, that is the last before the Temple, and the Temple has already started pulling me toward it. The Loa can no longer do anything to me, and i will call the god into judgement. I wake up
TDOTHT - [Goin Down To Dunwich]--- ...feeling edgy and nervous as all hell. I was safe, and i had forgotten some of the dream, and it was weird, cause the Loa were people i knew... I guess all we can do is wait. And clean ourselves, thoroughly. *shudder*
So, we've heard from a few people on the Pinocchio Syndrome thing. Anyone else have anything they want to say? I'm going to go feel weird, for a while, and listen to some Thickets... Later Kids.
