Begin with a Concept.
Find the Right People to help you mould and modify the Concept, people who understand what you want to do, and how you want to do it. Connect.
Find the relevant Trusted Sources for things like the Concept and catalogue them for the application of the Concept. If you cannot get to the top TS-- and often you cannot-- you go to the next, and the next, and so on. Blogging, here, and correspondence with your People can help to find the Peripheral People who can make this happen.
Seed the Concept. Publish essays, articles; each memeber of your connected circle-- your People-- should generate small pushes toward your larger generative concept, in the form of specialised off-shoots, in their particular area of specialty/interest. Every time you look in a thing like the TS, there should be something that has, at its core, the Concept, even if it doesn't focus on it, completely. The a trend that has at its heart the new application of some piece of software/hardware conglomeration, modified by you, for Example.
From the Seed stage, move to Cultivation. Draw more attention to the connection of these new applications, or whatever, and begin to suggest, but not too overtly, that they harken back to a single source, or have, perhaps, a common link.
Growth of Concept and Cultivation take time, but this time can be cut with the aid of enough of the Right People, and your Concept has officially become your Project.
The Project is a Long Term procedural application, either in terms of time it will take to come to fruition, time it needs to be In Action, or both. Some Projects are sustained and sustainable, while others are not and are necessarily short-lived. The key, then, is to take all short-lived projects and fold them into the larger eco-system of the larger Project. Mayflies are eaten by fish are eaten by bears are killed by other bears are turned into compost on which mayflies alight to eat and breed. And so on. Obviously there are many important offshoots to each stage in the Project Process, and those need to be accounted for and, if at all possible, harnessed.
Does anyone have any examples of a situation that displays this Process, or any permutation thereof?

Date: 2007-10-19 04:47 am (UTC)Personally, I have all of this available to me except for the initial concept. I am no longer certain what it is that I want to do, and where it should have cleared something up, new Jobs complicated things. It's now a question of how to manifest this Ideal, within what I want to do. That I don't know what it is...
GODS. If you hear a thump, it's my head on the wall. Nothing to be alarmed about.

It grew to be one women's concept of a Free Admission convention. 3+ Years running strongs. Ideas and personalities drawn in and constantly in motion. And obviously I'm glad to be a part of it.
