"Look what you did!"

Screw Columbus Day. Post Office's closed. Banks are closed.

Government institution schools are open? So they can continue to gloss over the horrendous truth?

All a giant government conspiracy to keep the red man down.

Are they? The public school where I work is closed for the day. Maybe a state-level thing.

Probably state-level, then. I know it's not mandatory, either way.

... They did. Spanish, French, Italians, Czechoslovakians (okay, maybe not Czechoslovakians), but at least the Norse were honest about it.

Small pox-riddled et ceteras...

I think they know, but I also think most find it out far too late in life.

Celebration of a mistake just bugs me. Plus, honestly, I didn't get the day off, and that kind of pisses me off.

In California, there's a systematic cover-up of the genocide.

It's not that they don't know, but that they don't care nor do they think it was wrong. Many people feel how this country was founded was justified.

Look Columbus got lost, we celebrate that?

Wow...I should celebrate my getting lost more often...

You should. Make up a rhyme about it.

"I'm sure they thought it was the worst thing in the world. But to me, this was one of the best things possible. Panic, heartbreak, and poverty, all great things in the long run.

So that's why I celebrate 'Condom Breaking Day' three months after my birthday. What's your story?"

Really, it's all and excuse to have sales, and get kids out of schools.

If everyone took a trip to the Natural History Museum, in DC, for Columbus Day, I'd be much happier.
