I've had my matress and box spring for a very long time. At least as long as I've been in this state, that's for certain.

Today I got a new bed. New matress, new bed frame. I've yet to put it together.

I've had my old matress for at least 12 years. Twelve. Years.

I'm not going to enumerate the things that means. You have brains and the use of extrapolative systems, so I'll leave you to that.

It's very difficult to just think of throwing this bed away. I'm psychically invested in it. It's... It's my bed.

Meh. Maybe you get this, maybe you don't, either way, I'm going to miss my old bed.

They say you should replace your mattress every couple years, to prevent backaches and others problems after it has "settled in".

I know how you feel, though. I inherited my mattress from my great grandmother.
