All I want to know is what does it take for people to do something? Does teevee have to disappear?

Killing one's own to recoup support...yeah.

I still don't believe that he can overcome the weight of term limits. Too many people "get" that concept, and have a decent understanding of why it's there, and besides that too many people hate him. So he's gone in a year. What happens, exactly? What's the plan, for overcoming that shift? Jeb won't work, not yet. Starting another war also probably won't work. Approval for war is down.
They'd need another attack on US soil to get up approval for a war, and even that wouldn't do the job of keeping Bush in power beyond his term.
...There could be a physical attack against the candidates. Just before the election, terrorists gun/bomb down the presidential hopefuls, to try and kill our leader-to-be, and others just barely fail to kill our beloved leader. Given that, he'd have a shot at establishing a police state.
Barring that, I don't see what Dubya is accomplishing, other than making a big stain on his historic record.
The powers of "The President" are being ratcheted up, but who's going to have them a year from now?

Everyone is Extremely Visible right now, so the chances of that kind of thing are unfortunately High. I would hope to god that our security forces for the candidates are taking that into effect.

What's sad is that there's no way to raise these concerns without getting red flagged.

without getting black-bagged, you say? True, true...

I want Obama to win, and I want his "no-nonsense" attitude to turn cold and incisive shortly thereafter; I want him to be our nation's Vetinari. Thing is, I keep seeing a strange thing in his face, as if he's being set up as some sort of sacrifice and a tiny unused voice in him knows it. It's like he has Kennedy-face.

Not too bad if Marylin Monroe's licking it at the time.
