Just last night or this morning or so I was thinking of the definition of perfection as I know it. I once wrote a one-shot scene of a character of mine (Dmitri) and one of J's who was meant to be a perfect doll brought to life (Remy); the scene was called "perfection" and had to do with how this random lady saw Remy as perfection and how Dmitri saw Remy as perfection.
The lady saw perfect skin and hair and a perfect body, whereas Dmitri saw perfection in his kind eyes and the way Remy held people in his arms and other things like that.
Perfection is not one thing, it's different for everyone. Some people may believe something is perfect if it lacks flaws. Others may say that the lack of flaws is a flaw in and of itself and say that definition of "perfect" is by their definition imperfect. Just like "beauty" or "happiness," "perfection" is unique to you.
The perfect wife, the perfect boyfriend, the perfect sandwich, the perfect day... These are all whatever you most want out of something. Key word being that it's what you want most. And many times, we find that what we imagine is perfect is, in fact, not as perfect as we thought. (Cue Stepford Wives reference, here.) If something can be considered "too perfect" it ceases to be perfect in our eyes.
Sometimes we don't know what perfection is till we see it. You may find a flower on a plant and say, "this is the perfect blossom." You just see it and know it's perfect. You may fall in love with someone and everything goes wonderfully, in your opinion, and that person is the perfect mate, to you. That doesn't mean you never fight or always agree, necessarily, just that they are your version perfection.
I can't fully answer what perfection is to me... because it's much more complex than my words. I'm sure to forget something. Instead, you got this.
Seeing my enemies crushed under my boot heel, the world countries recognizing my ascension to power, and acknowledging my cabinet of select people would supplant the existing governments. Watching as my dreams come to fruition. (btw you have to pick a country, if no one else has claimed it, its yours)
or
A good book, or series of books, some good iced tea (preferably from the tea house at renfest), no time to worry about; just me and the book(s) and some good tunes.
there is no such thing as perfection. There is an ideal of perfection, something that we think of that can be perfect, but in reality there is no way to truly reach that level of idealness. Once we get to what we think would be perfect, there is always Something, small or not, that is wrong with it, somehting we would like to change. So in reality there can be no perfection, merely a striving towards such an ideal.
Because of the phraseology, my first thought in response to "What is perfection?" was some kind of underwear and/or cologne ad. With that adspace taking up first-response rights, I'd already gotten too many thoughts in on the topic by the time I recovered from the absurdity of a bra model talking philosophy on TV... I don't think I can answer in the vein you desire.
The thought-of version of my answer is: As a thing existing, not merely as an ideal resting in objectivo-space, I see perfection as an in-between thing; like the nodes can't be perfect but the strands connecting them can be; Examples are better: The right tool for the job, or the finding of not the perfect person, but the perfect person for you.
