wolven7: (Dream House)

Dreams of working in the philosophy and religious studies lab, trying to get typing done, and people keep coming up to me to ask me for things, like a study guide, or a review of a test, or for me to make something work, properly. And I do all of these things; I make the study guides from scratch, and I review the tests, and do write-ups, and I fix the broken things. But everyone laughs at me, for it, at various points, saying that I'm helping people who'll never appreciate it, or that they'll take advantage of me. I have to keep moving from computer to computer, while I work, because every time I get up, someone else in the department steals the computer on which I'm working. The lab is backwards. Not mirrored, but the door and tables are on their opposite sides. The construction of the room is the same, though.

In the back of my mind, there are thoughts about wandering through forested campuses, like parts of Emory, or Agnes Scott. Sculpted parks and manicured lawns...

Something about having to work with the mind and dreams of a dead author, whose image and personality are following me around. People can see him, and interact with him, but they don't know who he really is, so they don't think it's strange. We've dreamed each others dreams, and found ourselves within each others stories and essays, and we are somehow linked.

There is a conference, some kind of presentation of works, and the hotel in which we are meeting has marble floors, and is also the building that houses the department. As the delegates come in, I have to wrangle the cat, while holding a soda in my hand, and he makes it to the part of the lobby with the miniature lemons grove. He gets covered in seeds and lemon juice, and I have to hold on to him, while everyone takes their places.

Interspersed with images of walking through the halls of the departments with the dead man-- who looks like Jung, but talks like Borges-- but the halls are dark, like the departments are shut down, but there are still echoes of people walking through, flickering and interacting.

I woke up, at some point. My uncle called, and we talked, for a while.

Half dreams of little figurines representing everyone, ever, set up on a balcony, and they represent them by being reflections of everything they say that they are Not. I'm sitting there, with a pirate figure, trying to figure out who says they aren'te a pirate, and I find the pirate ship, and I place the pirate figure. I hear, then, what sounds like one of the other figurines talking to me, saying that Jack Daw King, of the Pirates won't be happy about that. I turn around and see a dark figure in cloak and hat, and I gesture and they fally away, revealing a Giant Raven underneath. I recognise the self-styled King of Ravens, and we stare at each other. I wake up

Some of this morning's dreams.

"And the award for Most Awesomest Rapper. EVER. Goes tooooo.... Oh, Holy Shit, it's MC Frontalot!" Front Page of the Washinton Post website, talking about NerdCore.

Also, there are Knots in Space-Time.

You know what would be the most awesome birthday present, in the world? The abiility to talk to people about influences, meanings, esoteric and weird shit that mirrors in their work, and resonates outward, without it being difficult or awkward.

Barring that, a simple "happy birthday" will suffice. *Smiles*

Still hitting the Vortex, tonight[, at around seven]. No, I can't pay for you, yes i do recommend you bring cash, and yes they have amazing food and beer. See you when I see you.

Happy birthday to me.

Happy Birthday, indeed. And I made that wish at 4:44 this morning. Well... 4:44 here.

We'll have to plan for a spontaneous visit at some point in the future... or something. *snicker*

Yeah, probably not a good plan, in light of the fact that my Messiah complex has been playing up, lately...
