From [livejournal.com profile] hametsunosaturn:

1) You get one super power, what is it?

Knowledge of all the secret, hidden things. Though that would begin to be Very dangerous and scary.

2) What's your favorite episode of your favorite TV show? (With explanation)

Wow. Tough one. My current favourite show is Angel, so I would probably go with the last episode, "Not Fade Away."

3) You're given two tickets to anywhere in the world, $5,000 spending cash, and two free weeks from work for you and your companion. Where are you going?

Inexplicably, Italy is the first place that comes to mind, probably because it's cliché. Honestly, I think I'd want to go to Ireland, or perhaps somewhere in Norway.

4) If you could go back or forward in time for 24 hours to observe without being seen by anyone there, what year would you go to?

Remember: Observation of an event effects that event. ;) Right now, I want to go back to the 24 hours, prior to Jesus' arrest and crucifixion, to see exactly what he said to Judas Iscariot. But that has something to do with my current reading material.

5) What is one of the best gifts someone has ever given you?

That's very tough to say. I still think my copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance near tops that list, though.

From [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel:

1. How do you see yourself?

Trying as hard as I Can, about things that most everyone thinks don't matter, at the time.

2. What do you hate to admit has had an influence on you?

My time at and directly after Grady.

3. What do you think is intrinsic to humanity that makes it want to be subverted?

I think there is a drive, in humans, that makes them seek the easier way. Technology, government, science, all of it is designed so that we can Work Less. Anything that means that they have less personal responsibility, the better.

4. Pick a song, any song.

Right now, Tool - [Lateralis]

5. Favourite element?

Alchemical? Fire and Void. Chemical? Probably magnesium.

From [livejournal.com profile] jessicamelusine:

1. What question do you wish someone would ask you?

All of them, non-stop. I want people to want to know everything about me, as i want to know everything about them. I want them to not be afraid to ask, and I want to not have to worry about what they'll think of the answers, even after I warn them.

2. Describe your last dream.

The hillside of a parking lot, with a person from highschool, who I thought I'd never seee again, in dreams or flesh, nor did I care to. Standing there, the visual focus for the litany of questions and answers about my motivations toward the past, a stream of questions, making me second guess my rememberings.

3. What is your favorite short story?

That's a very tough question. Of someone else's? It has to be, at the moment, "Death and the Compass" by Jorge Luis Borges. Of my own? They are all too uniquely precious to say... But here's one.

4. Describe an encounter you have had with the uncanny.

There are dreams I've had that came true, unheard voices, telling me things that came to pass, knowing something about someone, before they know it. But any time I try to describe them they... fall apart.

5. Will you be at DragonCon this year?

If all goes according to plan, most certainly.

From [livejournal.com profile] thurisazshole:

1. why satanism as your preferred template?

Satan means adversary, and if there's anything people have shown themselves to need, it's properly applied adversity, over time.

2. if you had an unlimited supply of money and time. besides the educational exploits you'd persue, what would you do for yourself?

For myself? I'd buy houses, in ever major city of the union, invest in the teleportation technology to get me between each one, instantly, and then start funding all of my quantum biotechnological applications.

3. what is your first memory, this lifetime?

Playing with my family's cat, Midnight.

4. tell me something about your father that you find utterly amazing.

The fact that he spent about 10 years, trying to find the right academic program, while doing the work on the colling system for a plasma cannon.

5. quantum mechanics vs relativity, which way do you lean, and why?

I can't make the choice, really. I see them as parts of a whole, but I tend to use quantum mechanics, more, because i'm a bit smaller than a planet, at the moment.

From [livejournal.com profile] raoin:

[In response to my statement that Groundhog Day is a perfect film]

1. what makes you feel like its perfect? as movies go, is Groundhog Day the movie by which you measure the perfection of other films, or do you measure it against something else?

Perfection being infinite, and Groundhog Day encompassing the characteristics of infinity, it is, to paraphrase, A perfection, not The perfection.

2. You get really grumpy/pissy when you're hungry, and you know it. people have pointed it out to you. do you actively try to change this behavior?

I try not to take it out on people, but people also don't, you know, not talk to me, when hungry. If I'm pissed, and not talking, it's because I know i'm likely to snap at others, because my chemistry's making it hard for me to work. Just... get me a sammich and let it happen.

3. Do you ever have moments where you think to yourself, "Fuck this, i should just fuck off and farm something in a midwestern state for the rest of my life." or some similar kind of statement?

Yes. Not farming, but similar propositions, yes.

4. nerd cred aside, how do you really feel about the works of Philip K. Dick?

I like PKD because he was crazy as hell. He thought that the time between the life and crucifixion of Jesus and now was completely unreal, and that we all existed within a meta/physical Black Iron Prison, trapped, repeating the same imperfect motifs over and over. He claimed to know this because an information-rich pink laser named VALIS shot it into his brain. All of those things seem like thoughts I could think, given the right series of bad days, so I like him, for that.

5. What do you fear most?

Stagnation and continual, purposeless change, within myself.

From [livejournal.com profile] sadistic_apollo:

home. what would it take for you to kill someone that doesn't pose a threat to you? (everyone has a price, what's yers?)

For them to pose a threat to someone I loved. Barring that, as an extension of myself, then we get into all kinds of problems... But I see what you mean. I don't see a reason I would, other than some kind of threat to myself or others: sanity, health, intelligence, general gene pool...

insert. what is most important to you?

Learning, from mistakes from successes, from breathing; the acquisition of knowledge and the understanding of that knowledge gain all things.

delete. what do you believe in?

Everything. Nothing. I trust and have faith in different matters of fact, depending on the situation in which I find myself.

end. what do you wish for? one wish only?

Apocalypse. Not in the Judeo-Christian connotation that has become prevalent, but in the sense of a revelation of the things people keep hidden, deny, ignore.

five. where did you come from? as in what are you patterned after?

That's a bit of a personal question, innit? Lots of things. My preferences are for formless things given form, generative conflict, hidden places, fears that break you so you can build you, again, change, application of knowledge. Like everythings, i'm an algorithmic interpretation of a universe in miniature.

That's it, so far. Dig it.

I'm going home. I have work to do.
