Tool - [Crawl Away]--- I've just completed what feels like the 18 billionth draft of my thesis prospectus, to be sent to Dr. Renick, later today. Naturalism, philosophy, magic, religious studies and the occult; let's have a conversation.

Tool - [Swamp Song]--- I would like to take this moment to mention, for anyone wondering: Why I Will Not Compromise Or Hide My Posts. Anyone working with me, currently, knows enough about me to recognise what they're getting. Any potential employer should know what they're getting. All of it. And if they they make their decision based solely on the half-reflective contents of my online journal? I probably didn't want to work for them, anyway.

Tool - [Undertow]--- Meme, from [livejournal.com profile] tsarina_bomba:

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

1. How are you liking the new apartment?
Liking it okay. It's a bit smaller than that to which we'd been used, but it serves fine. It's also in a pretty good area, so that works.

2. How have you guys been? I miss you guys. I can't wait till I live up on that side of town.
We're doing pretty well. Restless, antsy, working, school. The usual.

3. How's the grand scheme going?
Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better.

4. Do I still get Australia?
No one else has asked for it, or taken it by force, so yeah, you do.

5. If you had a choice of starvation or marshmallow creme, which would you choose?
Even if it were not anathema to my very sense of propriety and decorum, i think solely eating marshmallow creme, to survive, would cause me to vomit, profusely, eventually.

That's it. I'm done.

Holla if ya hear me.

So long ago, another life
I can feel your heartbeat
It's not a dream, remember us
I could see it in your eyes
We'll find our place in time
A place in time, beyond the sun
We'll find our place in time
A place in time to call our own

Great song.

1. yes. its vague.

2. if it works for you, use it to its (and your) best potential. my only rule, you must learn from it. if you stop learning from a method, start using another. there are an infinite number of patterns in the magical method, you'll never run out of lessons unless you want and choose to.

3. it was the journey between two books. candide. mostly its the cynicism and humor of satire that caught me. those two aspects, gleaned from the work, helped me through a time in my life where i needed something to make me laugh, other than myself. :P i read that just after reading the book of abramelin. go figure hehe.

4. its between two. manowar - swords in the wind - it just resonates with me, almost like how one can shamanistic tones in some drum circles. - and NiN, down in it. i was listening to it one day and realized that i didn't want to be controlled by my coke habit. i wrote a letter to trent thanking him. he responded in kind. nifty geek, he.

5. recurring dream ever since i can remember. it comes usually as a "warning" of sorts, that i'll hit another spiritual plataeu on my path sometimes soon. its a sort of coming of age rite, very native, very shamanistic (of the earth).. over the years, it has progressed, at each step something new in the dream/vision. - had another last night. *smile*

1.desire to be different(I was about 10 then), children around hated it.
for me it(physics) was attribute of "tough" man,
thus I am not physicist from God perhaps
2.I hate unproper use of this term. People suffer from lack of understanding of modern science, since intuition doesn't work here. They start blah blah about metaphysics, that's what I hate.
My favorite author is Cortazar, he is Lord of metaphysics.
3.Reread

1) Why Japan[ese]?

2) Are you still practicing?

3) What are your plans for the next three years?

4) Last sandwich you ate, and why?

5) You can do One thing, barring turning that one thing into infinite things. Other than that, time, money, history are not a factor. What do you do.

1)Why Japan[ese]?
Because of Sailor Moon. Then because it was somewhere between really hard and really easy all at the same time. Like it took practice, but I felt *GOOD* when I Got It. And unlike Astronomy, which also took practice and I was good at, it opened up all kinds of *different* interesting worlds, stories, people. And it would be something that I could actively do in my spare time outside of being stuck in a room doing equations or just using my telescope once in a blue moon. Pardon the pun. And because it’s a culture that is both beautiful and that I understand (I think). And because it seemed like a good idea at the time. I’ll tell you how that turns out after I stop panicking. Japanese itself is just a code, though. This inserts for that, and it doesn’t always mean exactly what that means, and I really like that. I like codes. If it wasn’t so damn hard for me to remember shit I would probably try to learn a few more languages.

2) Are you still practicing?
Hell, yes. You’re not the first person to ask me that. It’s kinda weird to me that people think they need to ask. But then, most of *that* group started saying that they never really believed in the first place and that they could never do magic anyway or any of that nonsense. Which is kinda how I always felt towards ye olde Catholicism, and shit, I can still See and I can still Feel, and why the fuck would I want to turn my back on all that and pretend it never happened? Cuz it did. And is. That that’s just peachy.

3) What are your plans for the next three years?
Go to Japan. Become better at Japanese. Come back. Be a certified teacher in the state of Georgia. Continue my current relationship. Hopefully begin a legal domestic partnership. Keep the relationships with people that I have now, perhaps make some more (but it’s so hard to find people as fucked up as I am). Let what’s to come come and adapt accordingly.

4) Last sandwich you ate, and why?
Does honey on bread count as a sandwich? Cuz I didn’t feel like dirtying a knife to get the peanut butter, and we were camping and we didn’t buy jelly.

5) You can do One thing, barring turning that one thing into infinite things. Other than that, time, money, history are not a factor. What do you do.
Continue. Because I like it here. I want to make the whole universe continue without big bads happening. Little bads are necessary, but I really don’t want the big ones so much. I’m not sure if that counts as cheating or not, though. And the way I worded it it would probably mean that I would die and use my life force to sustain the universe, and that would suck, but there ya go.
