So i havev this theory, about temptation, stemming from my dreams, last nightl; tell me what you think: The more prone you are to tempting others, with things, to telling people that they know they want something, deep down in their souls they know it, and then providing them with it, the more immune you are to its extremes.

Like any tool, knowing its application and functions gives you a measure of control over the thing, thus allowing you to recognise its variety and failures. For instance, if you come to me with a question about a course of action, "should I sleep with person A," for instance, then I will weigh the factors involved. I'll ask you questions, try to pull more information out of you, and assess the situation. Then I'm going to tell you to do the thing that gives you the most fun, while doing the least direct irrevocable damage to your life. Because that's what you wanted. You want to sleep with person A, but not necessarily their significant other, which may become a requirement, in the process. Anyway, what I'm saying is, as you work with the tool, you come to understand it better.

I don't really give in to temptation, unless I already wanted to and was planning on doing that thing, in the first place. The same can be said for everyone, actually, except with a little bit more maleability on the "was planning on doing. . ." section. People who tempt, corrupt, and otherwise en-sin others tend to gain a more complete undrerstanding of their wants, via the practice. And, hopefully, in being tempted, the temptee will gain something, as well.

Anybody out there want any Sweetwater 420 pint glasses? I have eight of them, and am willing to sell them for One American Dollar, U.S. Drop a line in the comments.

I'm pretty hungry, now. Going to go find something like food.

Let's test this...

Well, Pete The Trivia Guy said they don't sell too well, on the eBay, strangely enough. He's tried. It's why he was giving them out.

I say it's not necessary to resisting temptation, but it helps. That, and an ability to take into consideration consequences. The first helps immerse you in the experiences and gives you direct knowledge.

Yeah, I would think so. Which is such a fun thing, but can lead to something like living vicariously through others...

Fuck, no. At least not if you're doing it right. I wouldn't recommend anyone do something that I wouldn't even consider myself.

Well, not that one wouldn't consider, no, but what you cannot or Will Not do, for other contextual reasons.

For instance, if someone asks me, at 12.30pm on a Tuesday, if they should get drunk instead of going to a review session for a class that they know like the back of their hand, I'll tell them yes. Because, even though I can't, because I have things I Have to do, that doesn't mean I wouldn't.
