Two things:
Jun. 4th, 2007 10:36 pmOne, I was thinking about the intertwining layers of complexity, and the mirrors of stability and randomness inherent in the universe, today, as I was finishing up The iron Dragon's Daughter. Damn fine book, and I'm glad
mech_angel made me read it. The only problem I have with it, looking back-- and it's only a problem, from the present perspective-- is that it introduces a lot of concepts, without delving into them, as far as I'd like. On the other hand, it serves as a wonderful introduction to many concepts, and acts as an impetus to investigate, further. A great starter text, with good characters, and wonderful settings.
I also started reading Jorge Luis Borges' story and essay collection, Labyrinths, today. I should have read this, ages ago, as well.
Two: One of you, out there, still has my copy of Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories. This situation needs to be rectified, shortly.
That is all.
