Dreams and Drinking
May. 27th, 2007 11:11 amLUXT - [Vulgar Monkey Love]--- Dreams were of
warren_ellis finding my phone number, somehow, and leaving it in people's chimneys, along with
ben_templesmith's number, and the numbers of some other people.
Another section of the dream involved space transitions, in much the style of The Fountain, and something that felt like a Good version of The Chronicles of Riddick movie. (Tom Waits - [Dirt in the Ground]). Or a combination of that and Farscape. The big open spaces and windows of Moya.... Hm. Cobalt blues and chome and brass-coloured everything...
mech_angel and I with some kid, travelling through space, like Bean, from the Ender series.
Third section was strange, and very layered. One layer was about tere being a killer on the loose, in a museum, and my having to go in to stop it. There was a mother, there, afraid for her children, but she stood up to the killer/monster, and the museum was a zoo, and there were caves and pools and swamp, all in the same section, for the cave alligators. They were all babies, active and awake, because the adults become insubstantial, after their brood hatches. (Motorcycle Abeline - [(You Used To) Ride So High (Demo Version)]). I was running through the cave, trying to find my phone, and my wallet, which I lost, I dug through the swamp cave and Gillian Anderson was narrating the life cycle of these creatures, giving important facts about them. (The Last Dance - [Wonderlust]). I left from doing that, and went to my car, and, on the way, I found my keys, lying in the grass between the swamp and the parking lot.
The swamp zoo museum had become part MARTA station, as well, and it was three am, and the Library was opening, so my friend Stephanie, who was also, somehow, mostly
anarchette was arriving for work. She walked over to my car, and asked what was going on. We hug, and I tell her what's going on, and all the board members from the library started showing up, and they told me to move back, so they can get in. (William Shatner - [Common People]). I told the guy that I was on my way out. He contorted his face into a look of confusion and disgust, and said "So?" I looked at him, said my goodbyes to
anarchette/Stephanie, and pulled out and around the old board member, as he found another space, right next to me. I drove the breadbox truck/bus/car around the circle of the parking lot, 1/4 mile down to the entrance/exit.
Jarboe - [Torn Kiss (w/ David Torn)]--- I drove out onto the road, listening to Album 88, someone I know was the DJ, that night, and they were laughing at my travails. It was going on four am, and I still had to meet with
raoin and Ryam, for breakfast, or dinner, or whatever it was. I drove to the diner, down the road, which was now Peachtree Industrial Road, and some residential streets i know.
Placebo - [Post Blue]---Something in this transition about a nomadic tribe, and sleeping together, for warmth, but the lucky ones getting separate huts, with two bunks, sleeping together; me and
mech_angel huddled up.
Suddenly at the diner, finishing the food, going to pay. I found that my cards and phone were in my pockets, still, if a bit water-logged, from the night. I paid for my meal, and left, with knowledge that I had to look for everything, before I found it, right where I left it.
The Chorus - [The Ballad of Sweeney Todd]--- Good morning. Stayed up drinking, last night. Well, first,
mech_angel,
lord_of_smoking and I went to the Thinking Man, at about 12.30, because that's about when we made up our minds to do so. It was fun, and I compared the more angry lesbians in the Decatur area to a clutch of some mythical animal, hunted and persecuted elsewhere, but having finally found a home; they are likely to be protective of what they've made.
The Young Gods - [Fais La Mouette]--- Then
lord_of_smoking and I stayed up a bit longer, drinking Jack and Cokes, discussing the merrits of movies, and how we would have done them differently, to make them better. That was fun. I passed out, at about 3 am. So not Too late, but late enough to feel good about it.
Good morning.
