I've got a three-parter, for you: kitsuchan sent me a New York Times article, last night, and then posted about it, this morning. You can see her post Here.

So: The utter manipulation of Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, for the sake of television plot, justifying it by saying it rests in the "service of the narrative," making a part-white, part-Sioux man the main chracter, because "a contemporary white audience" needs a white character to whom they can connect.

WHAT?!

"Rome," "Elizabeth I," "Carnivale," "Deadwood." All cancelled. So. Instead of demanding that the audience become more intelligent, we... dismember and violate a classic piece of American Historical Literature?

Fuck you, HBO. Fuck you, and your ideas of a "contemporary white audience."
