'[L]ead author Chung Yang of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. . . stresses that up to 10 small cups of green tea a day is fine. Problems are likely in people who take supplements, which can contain up to 50 times as much polyphenol as a single cup of tea.'

Jarboe/Nic Le Ban - [Conduit1]--- Yeah, please let your liver repair itself, and the rest of you. Thatt's what it's there for, you know.

Neck still hurts, but not nearly as much. Strange, disjointed, no longer remembered dreams. Party was good, and saw peope I've not seen in quite some time.

This morinng, I go down to campus, and prepare to adminster the test, this afternoon.

How pleasant.

Placebo - [One of a Kind]--- While proctoring said test, I'll be writing thesis stuff.

I've read four different books on magic and sociology/anthropology/philosophy/religious studies, this week, and do you know what I've found? Do you know what I've been just so gosh darned jimiony Shocked to notice? Practitioners get defensive, collecting their evidence, and going, "No, Really! Look at all of t hese people who say things that I can make agree with my case." (Pearl Jam - [Daughter]). And the skeptics go, "No. See, this is all crap, and no one in their right mind would hold the position that ,agic actually existed, in an academic context."

Now, I haven't read all the material out there, obviously, but what I've read, the more recent stuff hasn't been very balanced. I mean, seriously: (Mindless Self Indulgence - [Dicks Are for My Friends]).There is only one person who is not, himself, a practitioner, so far, who makes a case for the efficacy of magical study.

Sxip - [Istanbul]--- I'm going to be spending a lot of time with Ariel Glucklich's The End of Magic. I'm okay with that, don't get me wrong.. but I need more than one book, and one person, and while Glucklich does mention Jung, Frazer, and Magic, and the occult-- all the things for which I'm searching, so that I might write a thesis of import-- I haven't seen enough to feel great about it. (The Pogues - [A Rainy Night In Soho]). By the way, I totally thought Glucklich was a woman. Would have been nice. I've found exactly sero autores de las mujeres a propósito de la magia. I like that Magia is still the same word in Spanish and Italian as it was in Latin.

Lovesliescrushing - [Precious]--- I have to go, now.
