Now, I want to ask you to think about signal-to-noise-ratio, and the lossy trnsmission and transmutation of energy and matter. (Tom Waits - [Don't Go into That Barn]). Entropic Abyss, tearing everything apart, even as it stuggles to kep itself together. It's all still there, it just goes from being a "cohreent signal" to being "line noise."

This is what happens when I read a lot of Jungian theory, and Alan Moore's biggest magical working, all in th same day.

Now, I want to ask you to think about signal-to-noise-ratio, and the lossy trnsmission and transmutation of energy and matter. Something that is torn away and reduced because the purity of it would resonate and burn this place, yes...

BUT. Stretching this analogy, what about making that noise into part of the signal? Think about visual tech like dithering; it uses the non-pattern of the noise to clarify the whole of the image.

Precisely. That's why I put them in quotes, because the signal/noise distinction is only valid at this close a level. Take a step back, and there's the wider view...
