Apr. 29th, 2007 08:55 pm'Most Katrina Aid From Overseas Went Unclaimed: . . .Titled "Echo-Chamber Message" -- a public relations term for talking points designed to be repeated again and again -- the Sept. 7, 2005, directive was unmistakable: Assure the scores of countries that had pledged or donated aid at the height of the disaster that their largesse had provided Americans "practical help and moral support" and "highlight the concrete benefits hurricane victims are receiving."'
Two things, here, that I want you to Never Forget: 1) "Echo-Chamber Message." Specific, listed policy, that says "repeat thesem words forever."
2) The obvious other thing. You know, the criminal negligence, with the hubris? Yeah. That. True, it happens when we offerr money to other countries: you don't want to be $854 mil. in debt to several countries, sure, but usually we'll find a back-channel way to get them the aid. Many the other, back-channel offers made to Us have be rebuffed, as well.
So.. Yeah.
