In conversation, mr_hinzelmann just asked me how things were, with me. My response:

wolven (1:22:24 AM): The new place is pretty nice, if a bit smaller.
wolven(1:23:39 AM): Good area, and nice surroundings. Much closer to school. As for things, I'm spending every day re-doing research I was told was done, and trying to get the departments to accept the legitimacy of the academic study of magic.

wolven (1:24:27 AM): Re-reading Promethea, keeping up with the Journal of the Academic Study of Magic, and the people in the field, what few there are. Generally the life of an academic iconoclast.
wolven (1:24:36 AM): In short: Things are fucking Great.

And they are. As much as I hate it, as much as I have to fight, every dayu, and all the time, as much as I want to ram my correctness down the throats of everyone in The Academy... I want to do that. I want to fight. I want to show everyone how right I am, and others like me are.

If it wasn't a challenge, I'd be bored out of my fucking skull.

Here's to keeping this kind of perspective on it, for longer.

You know, I've been wondering why you were complaining, some of the time. Yes, it's been interminable, but there are also times when you're not happy unless you're fighting someone/thing for something. Times when it's not worth having unless you've got (metaphorical?) blood on your hands when you're done.

I also appear to have lapsed back into barely being able to type without looking. Must fix that.
