Vonnegut. Fuck.
Apr. 12th, 2007 12:00 amThe Changelings - [Flowers Cover Your Eyes]--- 'Kurt Vonnegut, whose dark comic talent and urgent moral vision in novels like “Slaughterhouse-Five,” “Cat’s Cradle” and “God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater” caught the temper of his times and the imagination of a generation, died Wednesday night in Manhattan. He was 84 and had homes in Manhattan and in Sagaponack on Long Island.'
Hm. Thanks, winamp.
{I would usually take umbrage at the phrase "Some critics said he had invented a new literary type, infusing the science-fiction form with humor and moral relevance and elevating it to serious literature," but that seems really fucking petty, right now...
Covenant - [Brave New World]--- Damn.}

The Derrida obit came off as more of a dull term paper or criticism decrying decontructionism. It was hardly the platform... terribly opportunistic, a ludicrous attempt at a last word, self-serving, officious and downright petty. Even more outrageous was the title, "Jaques Derrida, Abstruse Theorist, Dies at 74." It seemed to scream, "Hey, Ma!!! Ain't I smart?"
If you expect The Times to constantly show their asses, it's kind of funny. I think they suffer from some form of social autism.
