Is it wrong that the scene that makes me tear up, in Serenity, is the entire last fight sequence, with River? That that's where my main emotional investment comes in?

Yep, I'm at GSU, teaching Critical Thinking, until the summer, anyway. :\ No space for me in the program. Which is fine, as I need to finish my thesis.

That scene makes me cry too, actually. I think it's the fact that it's such a selfless thing for River to do, putting her life on the line for the people who have helped her and her brother so much (Even though half the time half of them wanted to kick them off the ship).

Of course, my reasons for loving that scene aren't entirely sentimental; it's also absolutely gorgeous, visually. When the Alliance soldiers storm through the wall and River is standing there, silhouetted against the carnage, with a blood-soaked weapon in either hand...gah. Incredible cinematography.
