So, due to being violently ill, for a week and a half, I seem to have quit smoking. I get the twingy want for one, every now and again, but, for the most part, no real physical symptoms, no real lingering psychological effects...

I'm pretty happy about all of this, but I do need something to fill the space left by quitting. Some exercise regiment, or something.

We'll see.

You could always try biting your nails.

(I'm kidding, of course.)

I gave that up for trimming them neatly :)

Well, there have to be some other bad habits you can adopt....

Seriously, though, I find it's easiest to get rid of one habit by replacing it with another. I only managed to stop biting my own nails when I started pulling apart the split ends in my hair, hehehe. Granted, that probably wasn't the best solution (if you could even call it a solution at all), hehehe.

It's true, i'm trying to replace with meditation, but I can't do short meditation sessions.

Like I said in the car, dear. Meditation. It's good for you. Try it with a purpose, more often, since you have so little time for Work that you should be doing anywho.

*hugs* I'm happy for you.

Yeah, I know. I've been thinking about it, for a few days, actually. But no time...

Think on that

You had to go outside to smoke; you had to be making time when the urge struck.
There's time, unless you're planning huge meditation sessions.

I don't do short meditations. 30 minutes, at least.

There's lots of options out there - exercise isn't a bad thing to take up. Fiberworking of some sort can be incredibly relaxing, too. A ball of yarn, a crochet hook or some knitting needles, and a spare 10 minutes can calm the mind. The only problem then is figuring out what to do with the 10 billion potholders and hats you end up with.

Or make this sweater like me!

I totally second the yarn option. Knot magic is suprisingly potent, and relaxing at the same time for the most part.

That said, congrats on quitting, wolven. As for the method...you didn't ask Kali for help, did you?

Nice sweater.

No, I wasn't even thinking about it, really, when i got sick. I had bought a pack, the previous day, then I got a slightly sore throat, then I tooks some zinc, which made me throw up, then the week and a half of not really moving too much, then etc.

Because it's a hawt sweater.

And I'm lonely.

*leer*

Or am I just knit picking?

I guess if you just want to be kept warm at night, having a hawt companion would do the trick. But as far as loneliness, you're better off with someone who can hold their own in a conversation, and I've found sweaters to be little more than stuffed shirts.

"Lonely" is, in this case, a euphemism.

Ok ok, so warm isn't quite what I'm looking for, either, but it's a step in the right direction.

I've never been any good at fiber and needle work. Don't know why, just never got the hang of it.
