It's, in many ways, better than I thought it would be, but, in other ways a bit contrived.

Nicolas Cage is one of the producers. It's like he couldn't get the Constantine role, so... Man, I'm just bitter.

I'm glad there's a pulic surge in magical interest, at least.

Yea, there are parts I don't like. But then it seems to have this undercurrent that's pretty cool. I'm still watching it, at least. Glad you enjoy some of it, at least.

Some of it, yeah. Has potential, but... We'll see.

But I love the idea of Constantine -- this feels sliiiiiiiiightly washed-out, compared to the drinkingsmokingASSHOLE that is John, obviously.

But it has great potential.

Bob keeps making me crack the fuck up. Luckily, the whole thing doesn't seem to quite take itself too seriously.

My only problem with it is the whole "High Council" nonsense. Seems a bit contrived, sometimes.

But, yeah, it has pretty good potential.

The whole High Council bit is from the books. And it's a bit better presented there. There is more backstory of who they are and what they are about. Plus why there is the antagonism between them and Harry. Eh, it's what you get from an adaptation.

Yeah, they should either dial it back, or explain the importance with back story, rather than just having them randomly show up.
