Closing tabs and Dreams of Control Loss
Feb. 9th, 2007 09:40 amThe Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [The Sounds of Tindalos]--- Dreams of a play put on by
sketchington, where not enough people showed up, and I was randomly chosen and dragged onto stage, to complete the cast.
Something after that about working at and visiting some kind of crafts show, where there were lots of little made things that I could see buying for
mech_angel and my mom, and family memebers, but every time I tried to buy something or have it appraised, one of the stall workers was busy, or was trying to catch a glimpse of some famous person. It was a very Anti-Empire Records kind of feel.
Something Next about being trapped in a Victorian/Napoleanic motif with my friend Maria.
Something after that about talking with Rob Lowe's character in "Thank You For Smoking."
Next, a section about driving on a system of bridges and overpasses for cars and MARTA trains and regular trains, and losing control of the car, and nearly slamming into a guard rail.
It's all chopped and hazy, and I know i'm missing some pieces, because I started awake, after that last piece.
That's three nights in a row that I've had some dream about a loss of control, specifically formed as a car crash. I hope I'm not going to be in a car crash, but I think that's me talking about something else, in my head... I think it's thesis fears... Anyway. Links:
'What gruesome fate awaits our universe? Some physicists have argued that it is doomed to be ripped apart by runaway dark energy, while others think it is bouncing through an endless series of big bangs and big crunches. Now these two ideas are being combined to create another option, in which our universe ultimately shatters into billions of pieces, with each shard growing into a whole new universe. The model could solve the mystery of why our early universe was surprisingly well ordered.'
This kind of thing almost always bugs the shit out of me: ' Every day we plan numerous actions, such as to return a book to a friend or to make an appointment. How and where the brain stores these intentions has been revealed by John-Dylan Haynes from the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, in cooperation with researchers from London and Tokyo. For the first time they were able to "read" participants' intentions out of their brain activity.'
'The final design for a "doomsday" vault that will house seeds from all known varieties of food crops has been unveiled by the Norwegian government.'
Finally.
I'm all... weird, this morning. Forgive if I'm curt.
{Also: This is inspiring, if a little naïve:
And I think Amanda Palmer was in my dream, too...}
