Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] comorbid:

The worst part about this whole thing? The first commentator not paying attention to the fact that the other nine cities involved have already said that they don't care, because it's a fucking LightBright. People are going to freak out about LightBrights and how this was an irresponsible ad campaign, and try to pin it on the advertisers, themselves, and they're going to look ridiculous while they do it.

As [livejournal.com profile] lord_of_smoking said, this is going to be talked about in the Super Bowl commentary, and they only paid $50,000 for it? They got off cheap.

Well done, my friends. Well done.

I'm annoyed that they kept calling it a hoax...

hoax to trick into believing or accepting as genuine something false and often preposterous

What exactly where the advertisers trying to trick people into believing? REALLY. I'd like to know. Because calling it a hoax makes it sound like they were intentionally trying to make people think it was a terrorist attack. Which I'm pretty sure wasn't the intention at all.

The way I see it... it was just meant to be totally weird advertisements of the A.T.H.F. character the same way the freaky billboards are all over Atlanta saying weird ass things like, "I pooted" and "Clowns hate tangelos." Or the big freaky smiling faces. It's just Cartoon Network being weird.

Calling it a hoax is implying something else entirely.

One of the many, many problems with the Fox and Friends family. >_< Idiots.

We all need icons for them; they're everywhere.

I think it more than just Fox that's been calling it a hoax.

I was thinking of asking Caitlin to draw a *headdesk* picture for me... She's been having problems in her music class with a bunch of students who are just acting dumb.

And she keeps using this picture from the first day and changing what the Generic College Chick says.

agreed, one hundred percent. I can't wait till the prosecution tries to prove malicious intent.

No one LISTENED to Representative Stevens. I mean, the country's dumb, but we're not THAT dumb. Most people who vote, and interact with the world know better than to think that A) the interwebs are tubes and B) that a LiteBrite AdCampaign was a serious and malicious bomb threat.

well you saw the video, a professional marketeer somehow thought that this was bad publicity...
