Micro-managing sucks.
Jan. 31st, 2007 09:49 amDreams of running a section of Hell that was Nightmare and a Section of Nightmare that was Hell, and having to actually live in and survive the trails involved. I did, because I am awesome.
Other dreams of working security and casting director/thug for some function/play put on by the philosophy and religious studies departments. It was that weird, nebulous Pulp Future/1945 vibe that you got from "Batman: The Animated Series," and there were two women dressed like Carmen Sandiego. It was my job to go out i n the rain, and keep people from getting too wet, to pay off the cabbies, if need be, and to decide who was right for which parts.
That section segued into a section about me having a 170+° fever, and telling my sister that there was no way the thermometer was reading correctly, because if that was actually my temperature, i'd be dead. But it was correct, and I needed to take a cold shower to calm down, and bring my tempurature down. It worked, somehow. The place we were living was underneath the theater in which the program was being held.
Good morning.
How goes? For me, today is the second day in a row that I've woken up with "Germans in Mexico," by the Electric Six, stuck in my head.
Later.
{Oh and
mendori sent me this. Which I may have seen, or had brought to my attention, before, and which I may, in turn, have brought to your attention, but so what. It's always good to know where your copy is.
The "Search The Malleus," "Introduction to 1948 Edtion," and "Disclaimer" links are broken.
It's work safe, if you don't work in a church.}

Date: 2007-02-01 06:57 pm (UTC)It's a terrifying thing when someone's insecurities are the foundation of a religious movement, and when such has so much damned power.
Even more terrifying are the parallels in the prose of both that and many of the political speeches you hear now.
