DeathBoy - [Lullaby]--- 1) Scientists Find Dynamic Co-Creation of Chaos and Order; Catch Up With The Rest of Us.

If you like these links, why aren't you reading [livejournal.com profile] mech_angel's journal, too? She's where i get a good chunk of this shit. Her, and then some other people who give it to me specifically to get it out in the world.

Every time, every time! this happens, people seem to forget that others got there first, thousands of years ago. A lot of what science is doing seems to be coming in behind and saying "Yep, now we can repeat it!" As if that makes it more "real." It happened. It happens. If I try really hard, I can make it happen every second of your life, for the rest of your life, which you would probably then beg me to make shorter.

Anyway. 2) Didn't you read the damn song title? DeathBoy songs are tending to be links, these days, if you've not noticed. Click it. Love it. Buy it.

The end.

We had this same conversation watching What the Bleep Do We Know the other night with some magickal muckety-mucks. NightFall's dad kept yelling "...and NOW you believe it? Because a MACHINE told you so? I've been telling you this for years!" and such.

Precisely. Silly people.

But we know from experience that people can be absolutely full of shit, and their experiences can have nothing in common with our own, so we take everything other humans say with a grain of salt... but when it seems that a non-human, objectively 'real' system like a machine or a physical experiment shows that something appears to be true, we take much more notice...

That's true, but we should at least give us the benefit of the doubt.

I guess so... I just have an easier time of believing something that's been scientifically studied, experimented on repeatedly, and reviewed in Nature or some journal, than religious or philosophical information... maybe I'm too hard-nosed and inflexible in that... but I'm working on that, too. There are more ways of knowing than cut-and-dried mathematical proof or empirically derived materialistic evidence... there are many things that matter very much to us that science and math have no sway over (yet...)

It's a basic problem of language: If we can't translate it into something others can understand, they won't understand it. Tautological, i know, but even more true, for it :)

The Tao te Ching says,"Those who know don't talk; those who talk don't know," but it was written nonetheless. Maybe there's a way past the paradox; if we try to translate something anyway, maybe the astute reader or listener will be able to look past the words and *guess* (or intuit) what we're *really* saying.

dude i was into deathboy and watching them live back in 2003. my musical tastes, which are constantly shifting, like the tide, have moved away from them though. glad you like them, knew you would.

Yeah, i know you were. I remember you going off about them. Hence, one of the reasons I know about them, and added Scott, on here.

Great link. One creates the other; one cannot exist without the other...
