"I wish this song was louder."
Dec. 4th, 2006 01:56 pmStop. Think about this: if human beings never learn what it is to truly live forever, to appreciate what life is, and what the process of living, and living well involves, then they are unworthy of that immortality (though it will come to them anyway).
"Morphology, longevity, incept dates." Technology will extend the human lifespan, as well as discoveries of ancient secrets and understandings, which we will then call "New Age," and then the faulty scholarship will begin, and the flaky psuedo-teachers will write their books, and the valid knowledge gained will be drowned-out and out-paced by the loud-and-wrong contingent.
"I wish this song was louder."
Do not simply dismiss the things that associate themselves with things you dismiss, and do not dismiss things out of hand. Dismiss the work of others, but be prepared to apply better techniques, yourself. Be prepared to bring your adaptabilitty to bera, and analyse that which needs cutting apart, to be understood.
The transhumanist movement does not understand what it asks from its quest for immortality. Most people do not understand what they ask from themselves in their drive to understand the world, and what the world asks of them, in return.
You have to complete the cycles, in order to fully understand the nature of the circuit, even if each section is a piece of the holographic mirror array that is our universe (or whatever). Understanding your piece of mirror gives you An understanding of the whole, but to truly understand the whole, you have to understand the nature of the mirror, and what a mirror means. You are reflected in yourself, as well as everyone else. The reflections are not the same, you understand?
Pretentious. Whatever. You have to fight for what you want. You have to prove you're willing to give everything for what you believe, and you have to ask yourself, every single day, if you're still sure that's what you want to do.
This ended in a much different place than it started, so here:
13 Things That Don't Make Sense.
