Faith & The Muse - [Branwen Slayne]--- Dreamed of a conference that was also a wedding and reception, and the travel, thereto. (Tool - [Swamp Song]). I was riding a bicycle, pulling a cart with everyone in it, as well as driving the car, and the road on which we travelled was a crossroads, at all points, and it was a combination of every major crossroads, in my life. 44th and Jay streets, N. Park/Ballpark/My Driveway, 3rd/K streets/Abbey place. Every major crossroads, on which I have lived, or at which I have spent a piece of my life. They were all crooked, somehow, but that was ok. That made it better.
Traveling (walking) along the crossroads, I came to the MythBusters crew, who were just slightly up the street from the house, but that was a good twenty minutes' travel. (Save Ferris - [Come On Eileen (Dexie's Midnight runners Cover)]). It was Adam, Jamie, and Buster, who was a real person, now, and they had been told of me, by Keri and Tori. They were pleased to meet me. I told them how to get where they were going, which was my house, and they went there, and thanked me. I continued on.
Driving the car/t, I had turned the wrong way on the crossroads, only there was no real Wrong Way. All of the paths would get me to the Conference/Wedding/Reception, but each path would mean something different, as I traveled it, and experienced the things on it. (Oingo Boingo - [Just Another Day]). I realised that there were very specific things i wanted to experience, as we traveled, and so I had to turn around, and take a different path.
Arriving at the Event, there were people waiting, and there was an Island, in the centre of a raised dias, surrounded by water. The Bride and Groom had to walk across the bridge, together, to the Island, and they would be Married. Some of the chairs sat facing backwards, others of them faced front, and how you sat determined how you experienced the wedding.
mech_angel and I sat facing
raoin and Patrick.
Back on the crossroads, my cousin Kita was walking down the road, with her children, dropping diapers, behind her. (Tom Waits - [Barcarolle]). She'd gone mad with grief and/or stress. Our grandmother couldn't calm her down, no matter how hard she tried.
At the reception, Columbo was there, and he was a reporter, and not just a detective. He was there to show everyone how fucked they'd become, how lazy, corrupt, complacent. He had a DVD of all of the interviews he'd done, and all of the interviews they'd done, and he showed it on a large screen that had, previously, shown a map of the world. Certain members of the press began to Cry, on seeing themselves as they really were, after having lied to themselves, for so long. (The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - [Power Up]). So much so that Columbo turned off the DVD in the middle of one of the interviews. But that was the point that the man about whom he'd been speaking came to him and asked him to finish what he was saying. He wanted to know himself.
Background images of packs of wolves hunting through a nighted forest, or hunting dogs running mazes. All in fun, all deadly serious. Life lessons learned.
You were all there, at the event, or on the roads to it. You were all represented, in some way, if only as a turn of the light, around a champagne flute.
Mozart - [Symphony No. 35 in D major ("Haffner"), K. 385 - IV. Finale. Presto]--- Good morning. How'd you sleep, last night?

Date: 2006-11-20 02:16 pm (UTC)I think it will be better tonight. I'm actually a bit sick as well, turns out, seems to be some mild form of stomach bug. That couldn't have helped, and was probably why I overheated (fever!). I've been napping it off.
