Election notes:
Nov. 6th, 2006 11:06 pmTomorrow is the day for mid-term elections.
Republicans are doing their spin thing. Democrats are doing their spin thing.
I don't care.
Here, in Georgia, it's supposed to rain, tomorrow. Are any of you political analysts? Do any of you watch the West Wing? Rain means that people are less likely to vote, because it's slightly more of a chore.
I swear to god, if you let that stop you, you go on the "Kidney-stab-holes-fucked-by-rottweilers" list. Yes. I'm still keeping that list.
GO VOTE.
Don't give me this hippie shit about how votes don't matter, and the system's rigged, or you will also end up on the aforementioned list.
If you don't vote, you Still don't get to complain if something you like doesn't happen or vice versa.
Vote. Seriously.

Date: 2006-11-07 11:23 am (UTC)you need that card and one of 17 forms of id. good news is, none of them have to show your current verifiable address much less have it on there. so, even though my card says i still live in brookhaven, i dont have to be.
seems i was put on the inactive voters list and if i dont vote today, they take me off of registration and i have to re register. which i will do anyway after this election. i've mostly been avoiding registering for the place where i live now because i hate how i always get picked for jury duty. lame i know, but there is some precedent in my life. i've been called almost immediately in each county after i register.
seems patrick, who hasnt voted recently, is still listed as active though. which means someone is using his name and registration to vote... so even though he cant possibly make it out to his district in unincorporated decatur this tuesday, his vote will still be used...o.0

Date: 2006-11-07 12:25 pm (UTC)Awesome! I'm so fucking tired of hearing that from people. They can only rig it when the votes are so damned close because these ASSHOLES refuse to show up at the voting booth.

Date: 2006-11-07 04:42 pm (UTC)On the other hand, I feel that I should vote. From a selfish perspective: what if, for some reason, I can't move? For another, shouldn't I do what I can to help change it for everyone I love who can't?
