Live Concerts are a Holy Place, for me.
Oct. 25th, 2006 01:10 amLive concerts are holy, to me. There is almost no other place, in the whole world, where people are more in tune with who they are and who they want to be and the sad, breaking, crushing, uplifting conjunction and juxtaposition of those things, as when they are in the presence or performace of live music.
Music is magic.
Tonight was like Jesus, Allah, Buddha, YHWH, Krishna, Shiva, Kali, Bast, Hera, Freya, Inana, the universe and my Self all slit open their wrists, all at once, and said to me "Take. Drink. This Is My Blood. This Do In Remembrance of Me."
Sxip Shirey, The Red Paintings, Dames Aflame, and The Dresden Dolls.
Four nearly continuous hours of music and performance....
I am in a holy place, and this is the choir.
We preach to you, that you may sing it louder.

You either boggle me or invoke my pity.

Date: 2006-10-25 07:38 pm (UTC)I'm staring at the real possibility that I'll make no money between now and January, and that leaves me on the streets in December.
It's a neat learning experience, and honestly, I'm not having trouble dealing with it for some reason outside of the expected stress and a couple bouts of tears.

Date: 2006-10-25 06:24 pm (UTC)Dear Dresden Doll Fans!!
I know we all love our ‘Dolls’, and their dark and witty ways. Currently on tour with them is a wonderful band called The Red Paintings. As of late our new favorite band has fallen into a bit of bad luck. Much equipment has been stolen whilst on tour as well as other hardship including a split from their current label.
PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS BAND!!!
They are lovely and dark and theatrical much like out beloved ‘Dolls’. With Geisha’s, human art and images from Alice in Wonderland it’s as visually appealing as it aggressively artistic music.
Check them out on Myspace @

Check out their website @

But after you check them out PLEASE email roadrunner records (The Dresden Dolls label) and ask where/when you can get more!! Demands=Supply we need to create a buzz for this band so they won’t disappear.
Email roadrunner @

I am not with the band, I just <3 them!!
