'Hastert's comments were biting. He said in a statement that Democrats supporting the measure "voted today in favor of MORE rights for terrorists."
'He added, "So the same terrorists who plan to harm innocent Americans and their freedom worldwide would be coddled, if we followed the Democrat plan."'
Maybe you were unaware. We live in a Democracy that claims to respect certain freedoms, and liberties, along with imposing certain responsibilities, for the same.
"Eternal vigilance is the price we pay for freedom."
Believing in freedom means believing in freedom for Everyone, not just the people you like. That's the first motherfucking amendment, for you. Yes, we can defend ourselves, when someone tries to hit us. Yes, we can hit back. No, we cannot say "These people hate us, so let's wipe their voice from the stage."
Why do you hate freedom?
Also, if you're going to claim to be a Christian, maybe you should try quoting and following the words of Jesus, the Christ, rather than the Five Books of Moses, which are the Books of the Law, The Pentatuch of the Torah. You call them the Old Testament. Which, by the way, is not interpreted in the same way as you understand it. The Rabbinical tradition is built on fucking reinterpretation and the idea of buildng understanding. YHWH is infinite, perfect and eternal. We are not.
My point being: Jesus was a Rabbi. He knew the tradition of building and changing human understanding of Divine Word. He taught with that in mind. Stop being assholes.
To paraphrase Jon Stewart, could you please, for just five minutes, Stop Hurting Everything?
