So I just picked up my cell to see if it was charged and when I looked I realized it was on silent. :( I missed your calls. Next weekend we will most definately do something. Hey you haven't seen the new pad yet and the pool's still open :D. School's in session so hopefully not quite as many people in it.
Going to watch videos when I'm not quite so at work.
Lots of thoughts exploding. Just started igniting when I read the first time over on mech_angel, but not fully formed until now. (possibly not even now, but be kind...)
1 - Helluva sociological implication about 'contact culture'. What myths and classics do we have shared with the aliens, before we come in contact? If I were to go back to school, I'd take that course, as well as a film and literature thesis involving 'stories about coming in contact', from both sides of the divide. I wonder if they have a more interesting 'War of the Worlds' than we. 1.1 - Also wondering whether they'd rather play a dwarf, elf, or fraggle, if any of them shows up to my D&D game. Because it is open invitation, and I never actually stated any species limitations.
2 - I'm going to have to call Magdalena. Like... now. Okay, when I finish this commentary.
3 - Shit. Implications about the shadow governments and what sort of information they want us to have. Not to mention... okay, calm down a bit. Why wouldn't they want us to know this? Someone thinks this shouldn't be known, who and why? And how much can we trust them? Someone has a reasoning, but what? Damndamndamndamn... too important not to have all the facts. My brain is hungry, and annoyed at how long it's taking the waiter. 3.5 - Religious implications as well. I wonder how Catholicism is going to spin this one. There's also... what happens with any of the terrocentric religions? Even Buddhism and Hinduism speak strictly of one incarnation at a time, tied to the earth. So how... what... nope, I can't even fit that through my fingers. Wait until my brain's been lubricated with alcohol to hear it.
4 - Military concerns. Umm... like, what if they're hostile? Crapmonkeys. We'd better get on the microevolution experiment a heckuvalot faster than we've been doing, because they're out there.
5 - Then again, maybe distance is the biggest thing to worry about... we could essentially be pen-pals, but we won't meet for another millenia because of the stellar distances. Which would seriously suck if one of them had the key, and something I wasn't even considering.
September 18, 2006, 4 PM, became aware of alien communication with earth. Wow. Keep evolving.
